RA/BRS Patient Safety Committee update

The joint efforts to create a truly multi -professional Renal Association/British Renal Society Patient Safety Committee are paying off.
Membership now comprises: Drs, technologist, nurses, dietitian, psychologist, pharmacist, Renal Registry secretariat and our medical device specialist from the MHRA.
We continue to seek a patient representative and would be happy to receive expressions of interest in this role. We also welcome colleagues who would like to contribute to our work.

We are pleased to report that our work will be further enhanced by the appointment of Karen Jenkins (VP for Clinical Practice BRS, Interim President of the Association of Nephrology Nurses UK)
to the position of Co-chair, by the BRS.

Closer links are now being forged with the Projects Work streams of KQuIP, providing support for future areas of focus.
Our work to produce recommendations for the safe removal of temporary femoral dialysis catheters continues. Our next work stream will focus on opiate use in patients with AKI and CKD.
