World Kidney Day in the UK

START PLANNING – World Kidney Day is less than two months away

The Kidney Charities Together group who lead the UK campaign are encouraging hospitals and renal/transplant units, working together with their patients, to support the day by organising an activity or event to help raise awareness. The aim of World Kidney Day is to draw public attention to the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to help protect the kidneys, the risks for developing kidney disease and the impact it has on patients. This year, there will also be a focus on kidney disease and women’s health.

A support pack will be available at the end of January and can be downloaded from our website www.worldkidneyday.co.uk or you can register on the site to receive a copy in the post. The pack contains kidney health information flyers (including one specifically on kidney disease and women’s health) to give out, kidney health posters to use on noticeboards etc, World Kidney Day logo stickers to give out as well as ideas for a local press release, writing to your MP and how to boost interest through social media.

Get involved through our social media channels too and share details of what you are planning on the day.
